Maadi Chairman's Letter

Hi folks

Well what a very strange month April was!

The month seems to have simply flown past and yet at the same time we’ve not had such a quiet month since we first opened almost exactly two years ago. This said, we have an extremely full calendar of events, activities and private functions booked for May, so no real harm done, and feel we should all look forward to a very exciting month ahead.

Of course your new committee have not been idle and during April we did manage to open the new clubhouse book and DVD library. So please have a look at the opening times on the ‘What’s Happening’ page in this issue of the BCA Chronicle, and while Vicky our Librarian, takes her annual vacation, please feel free to come in and take a look around - Aimee Rider will be standing in
for Vicky so services will continue as per times publicised.

In addition to getting the library up and running, other committee members have also been active. Karl Wilkinson has replenished much needed and difficult to obtain liquid refreshments, whilst Mairead Hoey and Lynda Dermody have both worked closely with Sheryl Philips on our Administration team, to introduce several new, and much needed staff policies / procedures. Thanks to all three of you for the many hours of personal time and effort you’ve put into these essential tasks.

Finally, June 1st will of course see the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Birthday Ball held at the Cairo Marriott ‘Palace’ Hotel. Tickets are on sale at our clubhouse ... so please get yours today, as numbers
are strictly limited to 500 and tickets are already selling fast!
