Heliopolis Clubhouse

The BCA Heliopolis clubhouse is a welcome little getaway that offers both members and guests a welcome respite from the heat and noise of the Cairo streets. Have a quiet drink with friends, enjoy a taste of home from our delicious menu, or watch the your favourite teams live on satellite TV.r

Where are we?

The Heliopolis Clubhouse is located in the ‘New Cairo' Misr Gedida district of Cairo, not far from the city's international airport; it is situated just off the main thoroughfare of Salah Salem / Orouba Street (Airport Road) and is close to Nasr City.

The physical address is No. 11 Youssef EL Qadi Street – Turn right off Nafaak Al Orouba Street (Salah Salem) on your way to the airport and just before you travel under the ‘Farewell to Egypt’ underpass (The off ramp for this is just before the Egyptian Airforce Officer's Club). When you reach the top of the off ramp, turn right into Sayed Al Merghani Street (On your left and in the central reservation, you will see tram lines) carry on until Mohammed Arris Street which is the first turning to the right, and just before Hardees / Baskin Robbins.

Continue down this road being careful to follow the gentle bend to the left and DO NOT turn at the first right (Mohammed Ghoneim Street), but take the second right into this Mohammed Youssef El Qadi Street. The club is half way down on the right hand side.

Tucked away in a quiet side-road, the BCA Heliopolis clubhouse can be found at No 11, Mohamed Youssef El Kadi Street near the Girls College, or ‘Koliet El Binnat'. Easy to find, our little corner of a foreign field is off Mirghani Street. Please see map for details. If you have trouble finding us, please call the clubhouse on +20 2 22918533 for directions in either English or Arabic.

The clubhouse is secure and at least one member of staff is always posted at the gate during opening to let both members and visitors alike into the premises and garden.

When to come?

The opening hours of the BCA Heliopolis clubhouse are as follows: (Changes made based on curfew times as of 12/2/11 and are subject to change without further notification)

The Watering Hole

A small reception area, opens out onto a very comfortable and tastefully decorated saloon / restaurant. This boasts a relaxing and comfortable seating area, as well as wide selection of refreshments to help you cool down. A small but well-shaded garden terrace provides a welcome escape when needed and background music, gentle but effective air-conditioning, satellite TV and high-speed ‘wireless’ internet access are also on offer indoors, to assist us in meeting our goal of providing satisfaction for all.

The Restaurant

The saloon / restaurant can accommodate up to 30 or moreseated either as individuals, couples, families or larger groups, with full waiter service available at all times. Theme nights are also promoted to give further variety to our cuisine, but lest we forget the delights of good old ‘British Soul Food’ a traditional Sunday lunch of Roast, with Yorkshire pud' veg. and gravy is also available on Saturday evenings.

 Reader’s Club - Book Library

On this floor we have a well-stocked library where books can be selected at leisure and read in the quiet of the garden or taken away for reading at home.

Kid’s Club - Games Room

On this floor we have a children's activity room so families can tillstay close. Here the younger ones will find, a wall-mounted TV with video and satellite link up as well as toys and books to keep them amused while Mum and Dad have some “quality time!” For those with older children we also have a table football game available on this floor for the youngster's to put in the practice before taking on Dad.

Middle Floor - Pool Room

Recently refurbished this floor now boasts a pool table and several café style, Indian Marble topped tables and padded wrought iron chairs. An ideal place to escape the crowd and relax while your friends or family work your way around the table.

Bayley’s Bar

Onwards and upwards to our upstairs function area.’ Located on the roof level, this is a large, enclosed room, ‘Old English’ in style wooden beams and wrought iron wall lamps provide a cosy rustic setting with a wide range of facilities available. Obviously we have a another well-stocked range of libations which is open as required, a second pool table, two dart boards, a wide screen TV for the football, cricket and rugby seasons or music for function nights and a large seating area for general relaxation. Meals are also served in this area.

Social activities:

Live Band Nights
The BCA Heliopolis regularly puts on live entertainment for its members and guests, so from some of Cairo’s best bands, to karaoke and  disco nights the BCA Heliopolis ‘rocks’ at least once a month.

Quiz Nights

Every second Tuesday of the month the BCA Heliopolis's very own Quiz Master tests our mental strength in a time-honoured tradition: Quiz Night! Come on down and throw your hat in to win prizes and show your friends the sheer volume of your trivial knowledge. Teams of 4 can begin registering at 7:30pm and the Quiz begins at 8:00pm. Good luck!

BCA Leagues:

As mentioned above we try to cater for all ages and tastes, as well as ensuring we have regular interaction with our friends in the Mohandiseen and Maadi clubhouses plus other clubs and pubs in and around Cairo. So with this in mind, we host a full sports programme and our teams are fully involved in the well run, pool, darts and cricket leagues.

Pool League

Wednesday nights throughout the Cairo expat club scene, teams from the BCA Pool League square off. To get involved, contact the clubhouse for details. There are two seasons per year and several singles and doubles tournaments throughout the year.

Darts League

Monday nights Cairo's finest darts players shoot each other down in the BCA Cairo Darts League. To join a team, contact the clubhouse for more information. There is one season a year, beginning in the Autumn it runs through until late Summer the following year, but breaking for major holidays.
